Apple announces ‘scary fast’ October event

Apple has announced its second product event of the season, a month after the launch of the iPhone 15 series. There will most likely be a new iMac.

The company has sent invitations to media members for a conference scheduled for Monday, October 30 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. Pacific Time, later than the usual event start time. It will only be accessible via livestream; Apple often holds product launches in person and online.

The event's tagline - "scary fast" - is an obvious nod to the likely launch of the next generation silicon chip, the M3, as well as Halloween. The company is expected to introduce new iMac computers with powerful new chipsets, which will also boost Mac sales. Mac sales have dropped this year.

“Low demand, excess inventory and deteriorating macroeconomic sentiment are all factors contributing to the sharp decline in traditional PC sales,” market research firm IDC said earlier this year. ”.

Last year, Apple introduced the M2 chip for its MacBook line. The 24-inch iMac is expected to receive the M3 chip at this year's Apple event. At this time, there are no rumors regarding the launch of a new iPad.

Apple (AAPL) released the first in-house M1 silicon chipset for its computer line in 2020, abandoning years of using a single option from Intel. At the time, Apple (AAPL) claimed it was the world's fastest processor core and the fastest integrated graphics card in a personal computer.

Last month, Apple introduced its iPhone 15 devices with a thinner design, a more advanced main camera system, customizable operation buttons, and USB-C charging.
